We all have the television right??? We all have different channels based on the packs we have subscribed like the sport addicted is supposed to subscribe the sport pack and movie addict will go for the movie pack. Well its good at TV is medium of entertainment and every buddy is allowed to have the customization as he wants depending on budget. But this sort of things should be limited to television. But what if one day you wake up and find the internet regulated like this??
Yes guys this is going to be happen if we would not take an action. TRAI(Telecom Regulation Authority of India) is going to push this by Consultation Paper For Regulatory Framework for Over The Top (OTT) Services( kudos!! Great name !! Its like naming dinosaur as over sized animal with four legs !!). In overview let us say that the telecom companies are overwhelmed by the traffic of OTT users(like they are giving it away for free). Well they are charging us the huge amount for that. They are saying they are not earning anything from the money those services are earning. Let's say it in simple words, they are not earning a single penny when you make online purchase through any sites(like if you were taking city bus everyday for going college, the municipal corporation is not getting its share when you start earning!!! how unethical ! ) while they are already getting their money for bandwidth they are providing.
Basically they are dividing the internet into packages. Like for accessing the shopping/E-commerce website , you may have to subscribe the relevant pack, same for the chatting, videos and every different services they are providing over the internet so these TSP companies who are already charging for the internet usage are not satisfied with the money they are getting. They want more. And it is literally unethical. Click Here to see the consultation paper. May be they can make a site slower if they are not giving a shit away or completely stop user from accessing it. It all would be in their control.
Every developed country has adopted the internet neutrality because internet became the basic need of this generation (and they are going to regulate it their way!!!). Now Its our turn to save the internet from this giant pawn. We can vote for internet neutrality to stop this. It is very crucial thing and we all should take it seriously. Save the internet is online campaign for that and please vote for the internet neutrality. It is our soul request to vote for saving the internet and make people aware aboute it as much as you can because the deadline is 24th April. Please Vote guys !!!
